David Johnson's journey began in the challenging streets of South Central LA, where his mother, Bobbie Mamon, instilled in him the values of faith and the importance of education. Though he faced the pressures of gang life and crime, basketball became his escape and path forward.

Under the guidance of mentors like coaches Malik and Davis, David thrived not only as a player but also as a coach. He developed a passion for shaping character, believing that the lessons learned through basketball extend far beyond the court. These experiences shaped David's way of telling stories, enriching his ability to connect with others and adding depth to his decorated professional endeavors.

Rooted in faith and grateful for the community's support, David is a dedicated family man. As head coach at Aquinas High School, he transformed the basketball program, leading it to championships while emphasizing character development and preparing players for life beyond the court.
